Queensland’s Anti-Discrimination laws to undergo review
Queensland’s Anti-Discrimination laws will undergo a review to ensure they meet international best practice.
The Queensland Human Rights Commission will undertake the review of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, providing its report by 30 June 2022.
Attorney-General Shannon Fentiman wants to know if the law is effective at protecting and promoting equality in addition to non-discrimination.
“It will consider how we can make the process easier for victims of discrimination to make and defend complaints,” she said.
“Making sure our laws protect and promote equality for our diverse communities is a key priority for the Palaszczuk government.”
