Migrant workers face deportation if they complain about exploitation, according to industrial advocates.
Miles Heffernan from Fair Work Claims says overseas workers who speak up risk losing their visa and having just 28-days to leave the country.
“If a worker’s employment is linked directly to their visa, there is no way they will complain about not being paid proper wages and entitlements,” Mr Heffernan said.
“If they do complain, they can be almost guaranteed a one-way ticket home.”
