Diamond retailer sacks worker after she was diagnosed with breast cancer

A diamond retailer allegedly sacked a woman after she was diagnosed with “aggressive” breast cancer.

Salesperson Elizabeth Tapping is suing Melbourne’s Empress Diamonds and its owner Gabi Yitshaki for wrongful dismissal.

She is seeking $368,000 for five years of lost wages in addition to compensation for “pain and suffering” caused by the dismissal.
